What is Extreme Networks?
Extreme Networks is a family owned IT services business based in Carrum Downs on the Mornington Peninsula. Our company was founded in 1999, with the aim of taking care of the computers whilst our customers take care of business.
Starting Small
The next year, we were recognized in the BRW Fast 100 as one of Australia’s fastest-growing companies.We operated out of a spare room in our house for 3 years, until we employed 5 people and had a turnover of $700,000. An early success was securing a Department of Education contract, followed by managing 17 local Primary Schools’ IT needs. We still have the same brilliant engineer looking after some of those schools today! As the business grew, Extreme Networks moved into a factory on Peninsula Blvd Seaford. The next year, we were recognized in the BRW Fast 100 as one of Australia’s fastest-growing companies.
Soon after we became Microsoft Gold Certified Partners, capitalising on our growing skillsets around Small Business Server 2000 and 2003. We assisted numerous MYOB users, specializing in leveraging Terminal Server to significantly enhance MYOB performance for clients. We collaborate with MYOB consultants, offering stable servers to support their clients’ expanding MYOB data files reliably.
Grow Fast
We soon outgrew our little Factory and moved just up the road to Hartnett Drive, where the company continued to add employees and grow our skillset. We expanded with skilled web developers forming a top-notch team creating and managing renowned websites for our company.
Our application development team has a mix of skills including an MBA from Mt Eliza Business School, 2 senior application developers and a graphics designer. In our spare time we built 4×4 Earth, the home of the National 4WD Tracks Database and a website that regularly gets in excess of 250,000 visits per month.
Build Solutions
Today, we have a team of 16, including Microsoft Exchange 2013, SQL server, Terminal and Small Business Server 2011 experts, Microsoft .Net, Azure and PHP developers. We look after accountants, lawyers, doctors, hospitals, manufacturers, hospitality and a whole range of other small business industries.
Our 4 key values, since 2003, are Fun, Learning, Communication and Ownership. These values underpin our planning, behaviour and culture and help us to achieve our Mission – which is “To solve Small Business problems.”
